another artist wrote this for me to put on my website

Born in Dublin, Daniel Crossan has been obsessively drawing and painting from an early age and was obsessed with cartoons, Nintendo video games, action figures and comic books.

He gained a BA in Illustration at UCE where he further embraced a DIY ethos that embraces a raw and honest approach that has remained prevalent in his work up to this day.

Influenced by Outsider Art, Street Art, African Art, Neo Expressionism and Visionary Art, Crossan’s work is an explosion of colour; a mix of expressive mark making and psychedelic characters that translate to a distinct visual language.

Crossan continues in a rhythmic pattern until his pieces reveal their direction, working quickly and instinctively. As Crossan works, he finds himself lost in the process of creation, letting his intuitive bond with the art guide him. Through naïve exploration, Crossan brings forth a rhythm of repeated shapes, patterns, and symbology that binds the body of his work together. His lost, anxious characters expressing his own internal world.

A few years ago, Crossan caused a stir with his audience when collaborating with filmmaker Pardeep Sahota, taking his usual Art Vlog series into a twisted dark comedy following Daniel as his life brutally spirals out of control. The 3 Episode short ended up being selected for 4 film festivals in the USA including Slamdance.

In February 2021, Daniel jumped head first into the NFT space selling 1/1 NFT pieces on Foundation. Crossan's first art collectible series TaB$ was featured on the front page of the biggest NFT marketplace, Opensea. The collection has since amassed over 70 ETH worth of volume and has allowed Crossan to build and develop a strong community that helps new artists and collectors navigate this new hyper-paced cultural movement.
